The Jewish Deaf Foundation is already busy planning for Chanukah! Yes, even in May.
It takes months of preparations to organize something like the NYC Deaf Chanukah Celebration, and we're mighty proud of what took place this past December. Now we're prepared for an even bigger and better event! This winter will feature the addition of another city with a Deaf Chanukah Celebration. More to come about that.
In the meantime, we are seeking Jewish deaf artists who are interested in submitting their artwork to be considered for our gallery showing at the NYC Deaf Chanukah Celebration this December. At the recent event in 2014, we featured artwork by Hinda Kasher. The attendees loved them and even bought a few of them on the spot!
One of the reasons why it is so important to us to feature such artwork is to show that there is a thriving culture of Jewish deaf artists who are proud to feature Jewish themes in their creations. We also want to promote these artists and give them the recognition they deserve. Jewish deaf artists are as capable as any other artists in creating masterpieces!
Interested artists should reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org with photo submissions of their artwork. We're looking forward already to working with you!
